The Artist
My deep passion for the environment, nature, and all living creatures inspires me to create unique artwork that captures the essence of Yorkshire’s breathtaking scenery, portraying the ever-changing colours of the landscape and its rich, vibrant skies. My subjects include sheep, birds, hares, and other wildlife I encounter during my daily walks.
Drawing inspiration from the Yorkshire Dales, where I live and work, I meticulously create felt paintings using a variety of sustainable materials, incorporating locally sourced wool whenever possible. I employ both wet felting and dry felting techniques, using dyed wool, rare breed fleeces, and natural fibers like silk to add depth and texture to my artwork.
From initial sketches and photographs, I bring my vision to life through the intricate process of needle felting, allowing me to create fine details and a sense of dimension in my work. My artwork is displayed in numerous galleries, and I continue to develop my own collections.
I also deliver felting workshops at various locations, covering needle felting, wet felting paintings, and 3D sculptures. Private group workshops are available as well. For details, please visit the Workshops tab above. Additionally, I take part in a number of events, offering talks and demonstrations on the art of felting.
